The Challenge:

In late 2012, a leading pet specialty retailer with 1,250 stores nationwide was stuck in a bind. Rather than being able to focus solely on providing the best pet specialty products and services, the client was facing a unique security challenge after they found themselves with 600 DVRs from a now defunct company with no way to service them. The retailer was looking at a large potential loss and a major capital replacement expense.

The Solution:

When the retailer contacted NAVCO, our team of integration engineers quickly stepped in and evaluated the client’s existing systems and DVRs. NAVCO and their team of problem solvers determined the DVRs could be salvaged and, in a creative move, re-engineered over 100 of them in 2013, while warehousing the rest to roll out as needed. By refurbishing the DVRs, NAVCO has saved the client over $100,000 so far.

The Results:

NAVCO’s innovative approach saved the pet specialty retailer a large capital expense and kept the budget from going to the dogs. Now NAVCO provides service for all of the client’s existing CCTV equipment, including the refurbished DVRs.
